Since 2000
With popularity revival in 2000, despite the concerning the small size,
drum & bass the scene became very various. It became various before that
was difficult to allocate the most popular direction.
In 2000 Fabio has started to advance a direction which he named liquid
funk, that has been supported by release of the collection with the same
name on its label Creative Source. The direction was characterised by wide
influence of a disco and a house, and as wide use of voice parts. Despite
slow occurrence in a fashion, liquid funk, has won mass popularity in
2003-2004, and in 2005 it was generated, as the most sold by a direction
in drum & bass, with such labels as Hospital Records and Sour:R and actors
High Contrast, Calibre, Nu:Tone, Marcus Intalex and Logistics among its
main supporters.
Decade also has seen regeneration jump up’а. It became known as "nu jump
up", or scornfully – clownstep. Understyle it is sated by feeling of fun
and the simplified nature, jumping bassline, borrowed of the first
generation jump up’а, but with rigid, more technological sounding.
